“Congrats to Verstappen on winning the 2022 championship,” Ferrari fans give up hope after Charles Leclerc goes crashing into the walls at French GP
Charles Leclerc
Fans got their fair share of some amazing action at the Circuit Paul Ricard thanks to the neck-to-neck title battle that went down in the twelfth round of this year’s F1 2022 season. As Charles Leclerc got a plausible lead at the very beginning of the French Grand Prix, Max Verstappen went into hot pursuit of the Monegasque and he did successfully narrow the gap to his title rival to under one second for the much-needed DRS advantage.
Despite all his attempts, for the first 12 laps, Verstappen tried to get past Leclerc and simply failed to do so. Then, the Red Bull mechanics called him in for an early tyre change, and just as Verstappen was coming out of the pits behind Lando Norris in the seventh spot, Charles Leclerc lost the throttle of his F1-75, and slammed into the sidewall.

Max Verstappen gets lucky at Circuit Paul Ricard as Charles Leclerc suffers an unfortunate crash
Charles Leclerc was in an amazing form throughout the French Grand Prix weekend and with the help of an incredible teamwork by his Ferrari partner Carlos Sainz, he was able to secure his seventh pole position in this season during the Qualifying yesterday. As the race kicked off, Charles showed great reflexes as he got an early lead over Max Verstappen who was in hot pursuit of the Scuderia racer for the lead of the race for quite some time. Even when the DRS was enabled, Verstappen could not get past Leclerc with about half a second between the two of them.
But all of Leclerc’s attempts at getting the hat-trick for Ferrari this weekend as he slammed into the sidewall since his throttle was stuck. The Tifosi, who were quite sure Charles Leclerc has already won the French Grand Prix, were shocked by his crash. They quickly took to Twitter to express their feelings and many of them are in fact convinced Charles is not winning this year’s F1 title as his luck is not going to favor him to win.
Congratulations to Verstappen on winning the 2022 F1 World Championship.
