Conor McGregor has donated a whopping $500 thousand to Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, which also happens to be the hometown of Dustin Poirier. And coincidentally this club had also been a part of Dustin Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation, to which Conor promised the same amount, but hasn’t done yet and looks like he never will.
The news was first reported by TMZ that the Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana had received an unexpected call last week and learned that Conor McGregor would be donating half a million towards supporting their 2021 Summer Camp. Telling that the investment would be a game changer, they thanked Conor whole heartedly.
‘Thank you, Conor, for helping to ensure that our kids have what they need to grow and thrive this summer‘
The Club announced on Facebook, “Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana received an unexpected call last week and are humbled to share that Conor McGregor is donating $500,000 to impact youth in South Louisiana by supporting our upcoming 2021 Summer Camp and ongoing health and recreation activities in our 6 Club sites.”
They further revealed, “This investment is a gamechanger! Thank you, Conor, for helping to ensure that our kids have what they need to grow and thrive this summer!”
These donations come right after Dustin had accused Conor of not donating $500 thousand towards his foundation after he had promised to do so. The two had a nasty spat on Twitter, with Conor’s manager Audie Attar also chiming in.
There will be a lot of bad blood going into the trilogy fight due to the recent back and forth between Conor and Dustin. Both the fighters will be looking forward to settling their respective scores at UFC 264, on the 10th of July.
