Conor McGregor is undoubtedly one of the richest combat sports athletes in the world. The former UFC double champion has made millions of dollars from his fights and different business ventures over the years. He doesn’t shy away from flexing his wealth, and recently at Donald Trump‘s inauguration, he made a statement about it.
The Irishman attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C., showcasing his trademark flair and extravagant style. Conor McGregor proudly wore an ultra-luxurious Patek Philippe watch, drawing attention for its craftsmanship and stunning design. A renowned celebrity watch page estimated the piece’s value to be approximately $1 million, further enhancing Conor McGregor’s lavish image.
‘The Notorious’ shared the post on his story, confirming the estimated price. During his visit to the ceremony, McGregor also linked up with old internet rivals, the Paul brothers. McGregor recently took a major hit on his revenue sources after losing the se*ual assault civil lawsuit. However, it seems like the ‘Mystic Mac’ is ready to get back, but his contract with UFC is a hindrance. But given his supreme popularity, making money for McGregor is not that hard.
How money changed Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor’s rise to wealth transformed his lifestyle, elevating him from a modest background to owning luxury cars, yachts, and properties. His newfound wealth shifted his public persona, amplifying his confidence and flamboyance while drawing criticism for perceived arrogance. Business ventures allowed McGregor to diversify his income and expand his global brand influence.

Critics argued money altered his focus, with controversies overshadowing the discipline and hunger that defined his early career. The young and disciplined McGregor who inspired millions is nowhere to be found anymore. In a latest podcast episode, UFC legend Joe Rogan shed light on this change.
Conor self-destructed in a lot of ways because of money. He took that fight with Floyd Mayweather, made a ton of money off that, and then took a long time before he came back to MMA—and he’s just not been the same guy since. I think that’s just money, it’s a lot of partying, but it’s the same kind of thing. It’s just wild. But when Conor was in his prime, he was a f***ing assassin.

While McGregor went wild with money, other top fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov chose to be different. Having a humble and hardworking lifestyle is what they chose. Till now, they both despise each other and often fight on the internet. Irrespective of everything, the mass appeal of the Irishman has not deteriorated.
