India and West Indies will lock horns for the fourth and fifth T20Is at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida on August 12 and August 13 respectively. The stadium is situated in Lauderhill, and interestingly, and at first it was the only stadium in the USA that got permission to host international matches from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The stadium was established on November 9, 2007, and has a seating capacity of 20,000. The first match was played in 2010- a T20I series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. The stadium has hosted Men’s and well as Women’s white-ball cricket matches; and in total, 14 T20Is have been played here. The stadium is yet to host a Test match.

Interestingly, the team batting first has dominated at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Florida. In the 14 T20Is played here, the team batting first has won 11 of them, while the team chasing a total could win just two matches.

The pitch here aids the team that bats first but as the match progresses, the pitch turns slow and it makes batting difficult for the team which is chasing the target. In the first innings, usually a team scores a massive total and ends up restricting the opponent to a lower one.

The highest total scored here was in 2016 when West Indies put on 245/6 in 20 overs against India. The lowest total was witnessed in 2010 when New Zealand scored just 81/10 in 20 overs against Sri Lanka. India chased down the biggest total, just 95 runs, against West Indies in 2019. New Zealand defended 120 runs (the lowest score defended here) against Sri Lanka in 2010.

The highest-ever T20I score was hammered by India’s KL Rahul (110* off 51) against West Indies in 2016. West Indies’ Sunil Narine recorded the best bowling figures (4/12) against New Zealand in 2012.
