It was a do or die match for Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians. Under pressure, they delivered an excellent performance and easily defeated KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings by six wickets with one over remaining. Interestingly, it is their first win in the second leg of the IPL 2021.
Batting first, PBKS posted a total of 135 runs on the board. South Africa’s Aiden Makram anchored the innings really well and scored a quick fire 42 runs off 29 deliveries. MI bowled really well and both Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard took two wickets each.
Chasing 136 runs, MI didn’t enjoy an ideal start as they were reduced to 16 for 2 at the end of four overs. However, Saurabh Tiwari made sure that the middle order doesn’t collapse this time and with along with Hardik Pandya, he took Mumbai to glory. Later, Pollard came and hit a four and maximum to help his team register the first win in the second leg of the tournament. The West Indian player was given the man of the match for his all round performance.
After this win, Mumbai Indians have climbed to the fifth spot in the points table of IPL 2021. On the other hand, Punjab Kings have slipped to the sixth position.

Fans are overwhelmed after watching Mumbai Indians win a match after three consecutive losses. They are reacting as if the vintage Mumbai is back and now, all the teams should be scared of them.
Even though Mumbai Indians won the match, the Twitteratis seem disappointed on the selection of Krunal Pandya in the team. They believe that he should be dropped just like Adam Milne and Ishan Kishan.
Fans are hailing skipper Rohit Sharma and Kruna Pandya for showing a noble gesture against Punjab Kings. There was a point when KL Rahul was clearly out. However, Krunal and Rohit decided to take back their appeal as KL Rahul was hit badly at the non-striker’s end.
