“Agle saala cup namde, Rajasthan Royals,” Twitter flooded with memes as RCB thrash RR by 112 runs
The Sanju Samson-led team looked absolutely clueless against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers as only two batters scored in double digits.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a forgettable day on Sunday as they were bundled out for a mere 59 in a chase of 172. The Sanju Samson-led team looked absolutely clueless against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers as only two batters scored in double digits. While Joe Root was dismissed for 10 (15), Shimron Hetmyer played a quick cameo (35 off 19 balls) before he was caught at long-on.
Earlier, RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first. The decision proved to be a bit tricky as the RCB opening pair of Virat Kohli and du Plessis struggled to get going in the first few overs. Kohli even perished to KM Asif’s knuckleball. But du Plessis (55 off 44), along with Glenn Maxwell (54 off 33) steadied the innings.
The pair added 69 runs for the second wicket before du Plessis fell prey to KM Asif. Nevertheless, Maxwell’s fiery fifty and Anuj Rawat’s cameo (29* off 11) propelled RCB to 171/5 in their 20 overs.
RCB bowlers leave RR batters clueless!
The RCB bowlers perfectly complemented the batting effort as they put on a show at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium. They made it impossible for RR to chase the target down. Wayne Parnell (3/10) led the charge while Mohammed Siraj (1/10), Michael Bracewell (2/16), Karn Sharma (2/19), and Glenn Maxwell (1/3) joined in.
This horror show from RR batters triggered a meme fest on Twitter. Fans could not believe some of the shot selections made by the Rajasthan batters.
