“Chief selector ki cheap selection”- Mohammad Amir lambastes PCB as they announce 15-member squad for T20 World Cup 2022

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 and Mohammad Amir is among many who is not at all impressed with it. He took to Twitter and directly criticised chief selector Muhammad Wasim, calling the squad “cheap selection”.

Amir and PCB don’t have a good relationship with each other as while announcing his retirement, he revealed how his mental state was being affected by a bad atmosphere of the team and the board.

Amir took his retirement from international cricket in 2020 however, he withdrew it later, which made him available for selection in the national team. He was last seen in action against England during the second T20I in 2022. He has scalped 59 wickets at an economy of 7.02 in 50 T20Is while representing the Men in Green.

Fakhar Zaman in reserves, veteran Shoaib Malik not included

Babar Azam is set to lead Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. Spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to make his return after knee injury. Prior to the World Cup, Pakistan will play seven-match T20I series against England (from September 20).

Coming back to the T20 World Cup squad, Pakistan’s No. 3 batter Fakhar Zaman was included in the reserves while veteran batter Shoaib Malik wasn’t included in the squad at all. Youngsters like Haider Ali and Shan Masoon have been included in the squad.
