ODI squad for IND vs SA
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. The members in the T20I squad against South Africa have been given rest, keeping in mind the upcoming mega event of T20 World Cup and India is set to fly on October 6.
BCCI gave the captaincy to Shikhar Dhawan, while Shreyas Iyer will be his deputy. The three-match ODI series is set to start on October 6 in Lucknow.
Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patiday and Bengal pacer Mukesh Kumar earned their call-ups to represent the Men in Blue. The reserved players in the squad for T20 World Cup- Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar, and Shreyas Iyer are also included in the squad. Mohammad Shami is also a reserved player but he might be a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah’s absence in the World Cup. Bumrah’s availablity in the World Cup is still doubtful.
Meanwhile, Men in Blue have clinched the three-match T20I series by 2-0. In the second T20I that was played on October 2, despite David Miller’s unbeaten ton, the Proteas failed to chase the 238-run target and lost the match by 16 runs.
