Former England captain Michael Vaughan and former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer are arch-rivals on X. They never miss the chance to poke fun at each other, and their social media wars continue to entertain the fans.

After India’s 302-run victory over Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (November 3), Vaughan pulled Jaffer’s legs by sharing his batting average (7.75) at the Wankhede Stadium. Notably, the Mumbai stadium is Jaffer’s home ground. Jaffer shut down Vaughan by reminding them that he never hit a double century in Test cricket as well as in first-class cricket.

Yes Michael Wankhede is a batting paradise, too bad I missed out in the couple of Tests I played there. Could be because I preferred challenges. Like the challenge of scoring home & away Test 200s or FC 200s & 300s.. but you wouldn't know any of those feelings so nevermind

Jaffer played 31 Test matches for India and scored 1914 runs with five centuries to his name. He also scored two double centuries in red-ball cricket, in matches against West Indies and Pakistan. Vaughan, on the other hand, played 82 Test matches and made 5719 runs at an average of 41.4 with 18 tons. He never scored a double-century in Test cricket.

Michael Vaughan slams the ECB for their treatment of David Wiley

English pacer David Wiley announced his retirement from international cricket on November 1. His decision came after the England Cricket Board (ECB) denied a central contract for the 2023-24 cycle.

The 33-year-old has been an integral part of England’s team since his debut in 2015. In 70 ODIs, he scalped 94 wickets and in 43 T20Is, he picked up 51 wickets.

Vaughan was left fuming after learning about the shocking decision of Wiley. He said the ECB has given contracts to 29 players and leaving Wiley was “staggering”.

The way he's been treated in this World Cup has been disgraceful
Vaughan told the BBC.
