“David Pushpa jhukega nahi”- Twitter hails David Warner as DC thrash Punjab Kings

David Warner and Prithvi Shaw

David Warner’s opening partnership with Prithvi Shaw helped Delhi Capitals an easy win against Punjab Kings by 9 wickets on Wednesday, April 20 at the Brabourne Stadium.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Due to Punjab Kings’ poor batting lineup, Delhi’s bowlers did an incredible job as Khalil Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each. Only Jitesh Sharma scored 32 off 23 balls with 5 fours. Several batsmen only scored single digit runs.

Delhi seemed in a real hurry and responded with an incredible 83-run partnership off 39 balls between the opening batsmen David Warner and Prithvi Shaw. Shaw scored 41 off 20 balls with 7 fours and a six and Warner scored a brilliant 60 off 30 balls with 10 fours and a six.

Their partnership was broken by Rahul Chahar as Nathan Ellis in the deep caught the ball. Shaw slog-swept the ball off Rahul Chahar to the deep mid-wicket. It looked like a maximum all the way but Nathan Ellis was in the deep and took the ball without much trouble. David Warner finished the innings in 10.3 overs alongside the next batsman Sarfaraz Khan.
