Devon Conway leaves for his wedding, won’t play IPL for next one week: Report

Devon Conway, Chennai Super Kings opener will be unavailable for selection for the next one week as he left for South Africa for his wedding to fiancée Kim Watson. The team might not miss his services so much as he only appeared in one game so far for CSK.

Devon Conway will rejoin the team on April 24. But before rejoining the camp, he will have to undergo a 3-day isolation and clear protocols. CSK signed him for INR 1 crore.

He had made his IPL debut for CSK in the opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders. But in that match, he only scored 3 runs and was dropped just after one game and since then Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa started opening for CSK.

The 30-year-old has played 20 matches for his country and scored 602 runs at an average of 50.16. He has four fifties in his T20 career and the highest run is 99 not out.

CSK throw a pre-wedding bash for Devon Conway

Before Conway left for South Africa, CSK threw a glorious pre-wedding party for him. The party had several players and staff members wearing traditional Indian wear. The batter posed with his CSK teammates and shook legs during celebrations. Among many others, some attendees were MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, and team coach Stephen Fleming.

CSK will lock-horns with Mumbai Indians on Thursday, April 11. They will have a long six-day break and will play against Punjab Kings on April 25. On May 1, they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 1.

CSK have had a tough start this year as they have won only 1 game from 6 so far and they will continue the hunt for their 2nd win against Mumbai Indians, the team that haven’t won a single game this season.
