“He has worked hard on his batting” – Dinesh Karthik hails Arjun Tendulkar for scoring century in Ranji Trophy

Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik praised Arjun Tendulkar for proving his worth with the bat in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy. He believes it will make the youngster’s case stronger as everyone knows he can bat but getting a century is pretty special and appealing.
“I have seen Arjun quite a bit you know. He is more of a left-arm medium pacer who can bat a bit, but he definitely had credentials with the bat. You could see that he can hit a ball, but getting a hundred I think is quite special. Kudos to him, many more to team, we generally don’t associate Arjun Tendulkar with the bat but it is good knowing that he has worked hard on his batting,” Karthik told Cricbuzz.
While playing for Goa against Rajasthan, Arjun Tendulkar scored 120 off 207 balls, including 16 fours and two sixes on the second day of the match. Apart from him, Suyash Prabhudessai also scored a double century to help Goa post a mammoth total of 547 to declare their innings.

Dinesh Karthik lauds Arjun Tendulkar for his brave move

Notably, Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun Tendulkar changed his state team from Mumbai to Goa after not getting enough opportunities. Dinesh Karthik lauded the 23-year-old cricketer for his brave decision and said that he has taken the opportunity with both hands.
“I have seen him in England when he used to practice with the younger boys there, he had the potential to obviously do well. Credit to him, moving states, taking that big gamble and then taking in the opportunity with both hands,” the cricketer-turned-broadcaster added.
Interestingly, the century for Arjun came on his Ranji Trophy debut, the same feat which his father had achieved 34 years back while playing against Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium. The left-arm pacer has been associated with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL for a couple of years but is yet to make his debut in the league.
