Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has left everyone guessing with his new Instagram post. In the new post, he posted a short recap clip containing various moments of his career along with a para thanking everyone who contributed to his success. Fans are guessing if the cricketer has announced his retirement.

“World Cup for India and it was such a proud feeling to do so… we did fall short of the ultimate motive, but it did fill my life with many memories to cherish. Thank you to all my fellow players, coaches, friends and most importantly the fans for the undying support. #DreamsDoComeTrue #T20WorldCup,” Karthik wrote in the caption.

The 38-year-old made a remarkable comeback in team India after his exploits for RCB in IPL 2022. Later on, he was picked for the mega-event in Australia. He started the tournament in playing XI but was dropped towards the business end after a string of poor performances with the bat.

Post the event, the management is likely to promote young bloods in the team and Dinesh Karthik might not get a spot from now onwards. It was a clear indication when the selectors didn’t pick him for New Zealand or Bangladesh assignments. It seems like his time in the blue jersey is over.

Karthik made his debut in 2004 and since then has been in and out of the team. He lost his position to former Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, who successfully served the country for more than a decade. The right-handed batter has scored 1025, 1752 and 672 runs in Tests, ODI and T20I respectively.
