“Upgraded to nervous”- Fans react as New Zealand cements semi-final spot in T20 World Cup 2022

With 9 days for the T20 World Cup 2022 to conclude, the tournament has become even more interesting. Group 1 toppers New Zealand played underdogs Ireland at the Adelaide Oval in Australia. Irish captain Andrew Balbirnie won the toss and elected to field first in match number 37 of the Super 12.
Finn Allen and Devon Conway contributed a valuable 50-run partnership in the last over of power play as Allen departed for his 32 of just 18 deliveries. Kane Williamson looked in great touch with his bat as he scored a brilliant 61 in only 35 deliveries with a strike rate of 174.29.
Glenn Phillips again started with a bang but could not repeat his heroics from previous matches as he went back to the pavilion after scoring 17. Daryl Mitchell scored 31 of 21 as he became the first victim of Joshua Little‘s terrific hat-trick.
He became the second Ireland international to take a hat-trick in a World Cup. New Zealand registered a total of 185 for the Irish to chase. Ireland started well as their first wicket fell in the 8th over after captain Andrew Balbirnie departed on 68. A hero from his last match, Lorcan Tucker scored only 13 of 14.
Wickets kept falling at regular intervals where the middle order also contributed with some tunes to reach a total of 150 for the loss of 9 in 20 overs. Trent Boult went empty-handed as the other four bowlers bowlers bagged 2 wickets each. and Lockie Ferguson was the only bowler to bag 3 wickets in his 4 overs giving away 22 runs.
