There are several stories a cricket fan often hears about how MS Dhoni has groomed youngsters into fine players who then got chances to represent the Men in Blue. While captaining Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni was able to search the talents and after their terrific performance in the Indian Premier League, these youngsters had got opportunities to wear India cap like Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohit Sharma, Murali Vijay, S Badrinath to name a few.

But not every player could get those golden opportunities for sure. One of the former CSK player is Ishwar Pandey who, despite a good performance for CSK, failed to wear India jersey. The 33-year-old has not announced his retirement (Monday, September 14) and believes that had Dhoni given him a chance, his career would have been different.

If Dhoni had given a chance, by career would have been different. Then I was 23-24 years old and my fitness also was very good. Had Dhoni bhai given me a chance and I would have done well for the country, my career would have been different for sure,” Pandey was quoted as saying by The Dainik Jagran.

He was though picked up for New Zealand tour in 2014 but Pandey feels if Dhoni had given him more matches to play, his career would’ve looked different.
