Since there has been a lot of talkings going on in the cricket fraternity about whom to add in the playing XI for the T20 World Cup which is just four months away, India head coach Rahul Dravid will soon start planning the team. It will also be Rohit Sharma’s first time as a captain in a World Cup.
Rahul Dravid spoke after the South Africa series, which got abandoned due to rain with both the countries sharing the trophy after leveling the five-match series with 2-2. Dravid said that he is yet to settle their final 18-20 players.

“Start looking to firm up that squad”- Rahul Dravid
“As you come closer and closer to the event, you want to firm up your final squad or if not, you want to have some contingencies in the kind of world we live in today. Obviously, you want to take only 15 to the World Cup but (need to identify) top 18 to 20 players,” he replied to a query about what’s the core team India have.
“Obviously, there could be odd changes due to injury and things that are beyond your control but we are going to start looking to firm up that squad as quickly as possible,” he further said.
“Whether that will happen in the next series (Ireland) or series after that (England) is hard to tell but we are certainly looking to do that as quickly as possible,” he further added.
India will have to make decisions about their openers, the place of Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik. In the bowler’s department, they will have choose between players like Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Avesh khan, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik among others.
