“Remember the name”- Twitter goes berserk as MS Dhoni finishes it off in style ‘again’
MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni displayed his vintage avatar as he did the difficult thing again by finishing off Chennai Super Kings’ innings in style in a thriller off last ball against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on Thursday, April 21 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
When 17 runs were needed in the last over and the bat was in MS Dhoni’s hands, CSK needed big hits and no one could have done it better than Dhoni. In the 3rd ball, he hit a brilliant six off Jaydev Unadkat. The next ball was a four and only one big hit was needed to win the game. But the next ball only gave them two runs and 4 was needed.
And it was made possible by MS Dhoni. In the last ball of the innings, the best finisher in the world did justice to the title. A full low toss on the pads from Unadkat and Dhoni swung it and it went off the liner half through backward square leg and into the boundary and Chennai won the game by 3 wickets.

Mumbai and CSK’s innings
Meanwhile, CSK had won the toss and opted to bowl first. CSK bowler Mukesh Chaudhary did the job of shattering MI’s openers as he sent both, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma for a duck. With this duck Rohit also became the first player in IPL to have the most ducks (14). Suryakumar Yadav helped a little to bring back MI’s innings by scoring 32 and later Tilak Verma made it possible to got past 150. With his 51 off 43, he helped Mumbai set a target of 155/7.
Even CSK lose their opener Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck. But Robin Uthappa scored 30 off 25 with 2 fours and six sixes, and Ambati Rayudu had scored 40 off 35 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.
MS Dhoni then took some time to settle after the fall of CSK’s wickets but once settled he started playing shots. He was equally supported by Dwaine Pretorius who was hitting huge scored. But at the end, fans got to see their vintage MS Dhoni when he finely finished the innings with 3 wickets.
With this win CSK registered their 2nd victory in 7 matches. But Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions- are having the worst season this year after losing all of their 7 matches in a row and are at the bottom of the points table.
