A couple of days ago, Jasprit Bumrah turned heads due to his Instagram Story. He shared a cryptic post and allegedly unfollowed Mumbai Indians (MI) if reports are to be believed.

His “Sometimes silence is the best answer” prompted fans to think of nothing but a possible rift between him and the franchise. They conjectured that Hardik Pandya’s return to the side following MI’s all-cash trade with Gujarat Titans (GT) was a potential threat to the captaincy position that Bumrah would have filled in the near future after Rohit Sharma’s retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL).

But on Thursday (December 7) a post from MI using Bumrah’s quotes triggered speculation. Netizens are in utter confusion and they cannot reach a conclusion.

Without missing a season, he continuously played for the franchise till 2022. He could not play in the 2023 season due to his back stress fracture.

In total, Bumrah has played 120 matches and bagged 145 wickets with an economy rate of 7.39. His bowling figure was 5/10 (which is also his only fifer in the league so far). Apart from the one fifer, he has picked up two four-wicket hauls as well. He played an integral role in MI’s five title-winning seasons.
