What is happening in this Indian Premier League (IPL)? When fans are still processing Rinku Singh’s glorious knock, today, a hard-hitter from West Indies garnered praise from the cricket fraternity, but not from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans.

Some fans at the team’s favorite Chinnaswamy Stadium were even seen crying when Nicholas Pooran unleashed his beast mode. A target of 200-plus is nothing in front of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) it seems. Previously, they fell short of just 12 runs while chasing a 217-run target from Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

And today, to the horror of the Faf du Plessis-led side, LSG won the match by just one wicket. Nicholas Pooran was the reason behind this. But just praising him won’t do, for Marcus Stoinis also made a mockery of the RCB bowlers. He smashed five sixes and six boundaries to score 65 runs from 30 balls, at a monstrous strike rate of 216.67.

Nicholas Pooran batted at a strike rate of 326.32

But the man who stupefied everyone was Nicholas Pooran. When RCB were wondering what was happening, Pooran completed his half-century. But from how many balls? Just 15. So what if his compatriot Kyle Mayers- who had displayed his absolute carnage of a knock in the previous matches- departed for a duck in his match; Pooran did not disappoint. Though he broke the heart of the RCB fans.

Mohammed Siraj was the only bowler who did not give away many runs. He scalped three wickets and conceded 22 runs. One of his victims was Pooran. After his quickfire of 62 off just 19 balls, he attempted to flick the full toss delivery of Siraj but Shahbaz Ahmed caught it. The most astounding thing about this knock was that Pooran batted at a humongous strike rate of 326.32. His knock was laced with four boundaries and seven maximums. The Chinnaswamy Stadium doesn’t favor the home team only!
