The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) play their home matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This famous stadium was established in 1969 and has a seating capacity of over 40,000.
The stadium is owned by the Government of Karnataka and was formerly known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium (KSCA) but was renamed after Mangalam Chinnaswamy, who was a lawyer from Mandya, founded the Mysore State Cricket Association, and a former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The first-ever international match the venue hosted was in 1974 and it continues to host regular matches across all the formats, including Women’s matches. It is known for being the first cricket stadium in the world to use solar panels to generate the electricity needed in the stadium.
