After a below average IPL 2023, Shaw represented the West Zone in the Duleep trophy and then traveled to England to play for Northamptonshire, also known as Northants. In his first game, he scored 34 but got out hit wicket after missing a short ball and losing his balance making him hit the wickets

But in the next 3 games he’s scored a double century and a century, scoring 244 and 125 in consecutive games. Both innings had a total combined of 43 boundaries and 18 sixes, while Shaw played at a strike rate of 161.14. He currently is the leading run scorer of the tournament with 429 runs in 4 innings. Northants coach, John Sadler, could only praise Shaw for his great batting. “Humble is the perfect word to describe Prithvi Shaw. He’s gracious and respectful, he’s loved being a part of the team. We’re loving having him here as well” said Sadler after Northants’ win over Glamorgan . “His skill speaks for itself, he’s a superstar. He’s as good as I’ve seen in 25 years of playing this game. He’s up there with the best in terms of ball-striking. He genuinely wants to win games of cricket and has been a star in the dressing room.”

Prithvi Shaw shuts up haters with consistent performances

After Shaw scored 244 against Somerset County Cricket Club, fans started body shaming him. Content creator Ankur Warikoo said “Bet his mom thinks Patla ho gaya” on X, previously Twitter. Many fans were not happy with his insensitive comments, for which Warikoo apologized to Shaw. 

But with great performances, Shaw is making sure haters are quiet now. Fans on X are praising and supporting Shaw, with many wanting him back in the Indian team. With consistent performances in the domestic circuit and now in County cricket, Shaw is now working towards a comeback to the Indian side.
