Notably, the pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the final was a used pitch on which India's match against Pakistan was played.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, vice-president Rajeev Shukla, and treasurer Ashish Shelar had a meeting with India head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma (via video call) in New Delhi. Reports have come out that Dravid was questioned by the BCCI about India’s 2023 ODI World Cup final loss to Australia and Dravid blamed the pitch.
Notably, the pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the final was a used pitch on which India’s match against Pakistan was played. The slow nature of the pitch backfired for India as the Aussies restricted them to 240 runs. And though Australia lost three early wickets while chasing, Travis Head’s century easily ensured their sixth World Cup title.
As the reports say, Dravid attributed India’s loss to the pitch, saying it did not produce the expected amount of turns. Notably, the local curators decided to go with the used pitch instead of fresh pitches and watered it less to assist the spinners.
The BCCI officials reportedly asked Dravid why he decided to play on a used pitch in the final. To this, the former India captain replied that they played like this in the previous matches, but it did not work in the final.
Rahul Dravid and his wife were spotted watching their son play in Cooch Behar Trophy
Rahul Dravid will be doing the duties of an Indian head coach again after the BCCI extended his contract. His contract had ended after the conclusion of the World Cup.
Before joining the team for the South Africa series, Dravid traveled to Mysore along with his wife Vijeta Pendharkar to watch their son Samit Dravid play in the Coach Behar Trophy for Karnataka against Uttarakhand.

India are playing a five-match T20I series but instead of Dravid, National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman is guiding the team. India have already won the series 3-1 with the fourth match scheduled on December 3.
