After Ramiz Raja was sacked as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), he has been in several interviews where he talked of his unceremonious removal. In one such interview, Raja revealed the reason behind traveling in a bullet-proof car worth 1.65 crores (Pakistani Rupee) when he was the chairman.

He said how he faced death threats that made him travel around the country in that bullet-proof car. But he did not go into detail about that incident.

The car is with PCB. I didn’t buy that. My successor can also use it. I received a death threat. You can’t get a bullet-proof car until you face a death threat. That’s why I had it,” Mr. Raja told in an interview with Samaa TV.

I can’t reveal the details about it (the threat). But it has been there since Australia came to Pakistan in March 2022. DIG Sahab came to my home, there was a whole report that was made. That’s why I bought it,” he added.
