Fans start meme fest as RCB survive Jitesh Sharma scare to win match over PBKS
Despite the fall of wickets at one end, Jitesh Sharma stood up and tried to save Punjab's innings.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 24 runs on Thursday (April 20) at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. Had Jitesh Sharma stayed at the crease till the end, the result of the match might have gone in PBKS’ favor, though it was still tough for the hosts to recover after Mohammed Siraj’s four scalps.
Chasing 175, Punjab lost the wicket of Atharva Taide in the first over off Mohammed Siraj’s over. But the other opener Prabhsimran Singh kept playing for a while, scoring 46 runs from 30 balls.
However, the hosts lost quick wickets of Matthew Short and Liam Livingstone in the third and fourth overs. And despite the fall of wickets at one end, Jitesh Sharma stood up and tried to save Punjab’s innings.

Jitesh Sharma scored 41 off 27 balls
After Sam Curran‘s runout in the 10th over, Punjab’s score read 76/5. But Jitesh Sharma’s knock took his team to 150 in 18.2 overs.
He slammed two boundaries and three sixes, scoring 41 runs from 27 balls at a strike rate of 151.85. However, when RCB needed one wicket to win, Harshal Patel in the penultimate over, was able to give them.
He dismissed Jitesh with a slower ball. Jitesh top-edged Shahbaz Ahmed at point and RCB won the match by 24 runs. For the visitors, Siraj shone. He was the wrecker-in-chief, bagging four wickets for 21 runs at an economy of 5.25.
RCB will face Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (April 23), while Punjab will lock horns with five-time champions Mumbai Indians on Saturday (April 22). After this win, RCB stand fifth on the points table with three wins from six matches, while Punjab are seventh on the table with three wins from six matches.
