In the sport of cricket, one thing which a batsman always hates is getting out for a duck. The first few balls often make a batsman nervous. And is often relieved when he scores his first run.

It’s a common phenomenon for the opening batsmen to get dismissed for a duck. Among the players in IPL, names of cricketers who have more ducks are Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla and Rohit Sharma.

As things are getting worse for Mumbai Indians after losing their six matches in IPL 2022, even Rohit Sharma is not spared and he is having a worst nightmare in this season.

Because Rohit Sharma tops the list with most ducks, that is 14, to his name after he got dismissed for a zero against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, April 21 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. He just faced 2 balls before giving his wicket to Mukesh Choudhary. In 220 matches Rohit has 14 unwanted ducks to his name.

Mumbai Indians’ innings so far

In the 2nd ball of the first over, Choudhary delivered a middle and fuller and Rohit Sharma looked to flick but he ended up chipping it to mid-on where it is comfortable taken by Mitchell Santner. In the same over, Choudhary bowled Ishan Kishan for a duck too. In the 3rd over, MS Dhoni caught the ball behind the stumps from Choudhary’s delivery and sent the Dewald Brevis to the dressing room.

Meanwhile, CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians, at the time when this article is written, has scored 48/4.

As Mumbai have always been depended on Suryakumar Yadav, it was him again who tried with his resilience to save Mumbai’s inning but scoring 32 off 21 with 3 fours and 1 six, Mitchell Santner’s ball gave CSK the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav. Choudhary has scalped most wickets (3) so far in this game.
