Over a month ago, many Reddit users claimed that Bollywood star, Anushka Sharma and her husband, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli are expecting their 2nd child. Many news outlets then started claiming that this news is in fact true. 

Many news outlets like Hindustan Times, Times of India and instantbollywood are all claiming that Anushka Sharma is in her 2nd trimester of her pregnancy. She was spotted by plenty of paparazzi at a maternity clinic in Mumbai, but requested them to not share the photos or the news. She promised them that she and Virat Kohli will soon announce her pregnancy.

Due to her pregnancy, Anushka Sharma has been avoiding going in the public eye. This might also be the reason she isn’t traveling with Virat Kohli during the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. She just finished shooting the Jhulan Goswami biopic, which is entitled, “Chakda Xpress.”

How Virushka became one of India’s most famous couple

While being interviewed by American journalist Graham Bensinger, Virat Kohli was asked how he met his current wife, Anushka Sharma. He narrated the story of how he met her. When he was a rising star, his manager had landed him an advertisement for Clear shampoo. Along with him in the advertisement was Anushka Sharma. When they first met, Virat tried to crack a joke which Anushka found weird but nevertheless they ended up being good friends.

In the interview, he said he connected with Anushka thanks to their similar upbringing and struggles into becoming who they are now. The two finally married in 2017 in Florence, Italy, just before India traveled to South Africa. Fans and media called the couple “Virushka.”

In 2023, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. To support his wife and to be present during the birth, Virat had announced he would leave Australia after the first Test of the 2020/21 Border Gavaskar Trophy. They had their first child, Vamika.
