Things are seriously sour between the two former captains of India, Sourav Ganguly, and Virat Kohli. After the series of stuffs that happened involving the two during the Royal Challengers Bangalore’ (RCB) match against Delhi Capitals (DC), the rumored rift between them has taken another hit.

During the match, Kohli, who was fielding near the boundary seemed to have given a death stare to Ganguly sitting at Delhi’s dugout. Later the duo avoided a handshake after RCB’s 23-run victory over the Capitals.

The next day, there was news that Kohli unfollowed Ganguly on Instagram. And before RCB’s match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) today, another video emerged where Ganguly could be seen ignoring Kohli who was sitting in RCB’s dugout all padded-up to open the innings against DC. As Ganguly walked past the former RCB captain, Kohli simply kept staring at him. And now, reports stated Ganguly also unfollowed Kohli on Instagram.

Virat Kohli accused BCCI of removing him from captaincy

Kohli had accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of removing him from captaincy. Ganguly, however, had previously denied the same.

He had told ANI in December 2021: “It’s a call that BCCI and the selectors took together. Actually, the BCCI had requested Virat to not step down as the T20I skipper, but, obviously, he did not agree. And selectors then did not feel it right to have two different captains for two white-ball formats.”

Later, Chetan Sharma, in the sting operation by a media channel on him, revealed that Ganguly did ask Kohli to think before relinquishing T20I captaincy, however, Kohli might have not heard the same. The incident between the two, Kohli and Ganguly, just highlighted the importance of proper communication, especially in a professional job.
