In the match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, both sides are languishing as CSK is at the second last position at the points table with one win and Mumbai has lost all of their six matches, occupying the bottom position at the points table. This match will either give Rohit Sharma-led MI 2 points and CSK.
CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians then started their innings by losing two wickets in the first over itself and both batsmen for a duck. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan were the openers who were trapped by CSK’s bowler Mukesh Chaudhary. Rohit Sharma also made an unwanted record of most ducks in IPL.
With the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s 32 off 21 with 3 fours and a six, Mumbai Indians were hoping for a decent score but a ball from Mitchell Santner sent him back to the pavilion. But it was Tilak Verma who scored his half-century and revived Mumbai’s innings. Tilak scored 51 off 43 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Jaydev Unadkat also helped from the other side by hitting 19 runs off 9 balls. At last, Mumbai were able to get past 150 and set a target of 155/7.
Among CSK’s bowlers, Mukesh Chaudhary scalped the wickets that is 3 in his three overs and conceded 19 runs. Dwayne Bravo scalped 2 in his four overs. Santner and Maheesh Theekshana had one each.

Speaking on Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh said: “It felt strange when I first wore the CSK after sitting in the Mumbai Indians dressing room for 10 years. For me, both the teams have been very special. The match between these two IPL giants gives the feeling of an India-Pakistan contest due to the rivalry factor and the level of competition.”
“When I first stepped down on the field against MI, I was praying for the match to end soon because there was emotion and a lot of pressure involved in that game. Luckily that match ended early and CSK won it,” he added further.
