India is locking horns with Australia on Friday, September 23 for the 2nd T20I. The match started after 9 PM because of rain at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur.
India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. Australia openers Aaron Finch and Cameron Green walked out to bat. Green soon got dismissed by Virat Kohli ‘s run-out.
This happened in the over of Axar Patel. Patel bowled a short one and angled it into the stumps. Cameron rocked back and pulled it towards mid on and took a quick single but Virat Kohli was on to the ball in a flash as he picked it up and threw it at the bowler’s end. Axar Patel was well placed behind the stumps and the ball was straight into his hands. He then knocked the bails off. Green scored five runs off four balls with a four.
Glenn Maxwell walked in and walked out on golden duck off Patel’s ball. Tim David scored two runs off three balls before Patel dismissed him in a similar manner like that of Maxwell. Patel ball come around the wicket and went full around off. It was angled in with the arm. David looked to knock it down the ground but missed it completely. The ball went through the stumps behind him.
Aaron Finch scored 31 runs off just 15 balls with four fours and a six at a strike rate of 206.67. Matthew Wade played a quick unbeaten 43 runs off 20 balls with four fours and three sixes at an impressive strike rate of 215.
At the end, Australia were able to put 90/5, which is perfectly high in the 8-over innings. Axar Patel grabbed two wickets in his two overs and conceded 13 runs. But Harshal Patel conceded 32 runs in his two-over spell.
