Canadian Punjabi rapper Shubhneet Singh, better known as Shubh, has been caught in controversy due to a post he shared on his Instagram story. He had shared a photo of the Indian Map without Jammu and Kashmir, North-East India and Punjab, with the caption “Save Punjab.”
Virat Kohli had called Shubh his favorite artist in a recent Instagram post. After Shubh posted the photo, he unfollowed him. KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya and Suresh Raina also unfollowed the 26-year old on Instagram. Shubh was set to tour India as well, but that got canceled after boAt pulled out of their sponsorship with the rapper.
Shubh is now under fire due to his post, with the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janta Party having said that the rapper is a supporter of the Khalistani movement. The Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha had removed the posters of his upcoming performance in Mumbai and submitted a memorandum to the organizers Mumbai Police. This memorandum has requested the cancellation of his performances. If the concert was not canceled, then the BJYM would protest. They also requested an FIR to be registered against him.

Shubh’s India tour has been canceled
After his Instagram story, Indian consumer electronics manufacturer, boAt withdrew their sponsorship of his Indian tour. They put up a statement where they wrote, “At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour.”
BookMyShow later canceled his Indian tour as well. The online ticketing platform announced that due to Shubh’s story on Instagram, they have decided to cancel his Indian tour. They also announced that all tickets would be refunded back, with the refund taking 7-10 days.
