Undoubtedly, the final match of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a nail-biting one and one couldn’t decide the winner till the last ball. But when Ravindra Jadeja sent two back-to-back balls for a six and a four, only a burst of emotions was expected from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) supporters. For the first time, when an IPL final got rescheduled on Reserve Day, CSK beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, to get crowned as IPL champions for a record-equaling five times.

The hearts of the close watchers of the game must be palpitating. Even CSK skipper MS Dhoni was seen avoiding watching the final ball as he sat in the dugout with closed eyes. Though the clip of the same did not take much time to be an instant hit on social media, another video has emerged which seems to melt the hearts of the fans.

CSK won IPL 2023

Wishes poured in from all corners of the country for the five-time IPL champions, including from former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir was the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who got knocked out in the Eliminator against Mumbai Indians.

Though LSG couldn’t win a title under Gambhir’s mentorship, under his captaincy, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were crowned IPL champions two times in 2012 and 2014. He reckoned in his tweet that winning five titles is indeed an ‘unbelievable’ achievement.

Congratulations CSK! Winning 1 title is difficult, winning 5 is unbelievable!” Check the tweet below:
