Meanwhile, India thrashed New Zealand by 3-0 owing to a stunning performance from Shubman Gill and the bowlers. Gill garnered a staggering 360 runs from three matches with the help of a double century, a century, and an unbeaten 40 runs. In the third ODI in Indore, Rohit also scored his first century in over three years.

Gill and Kishan are part of the T20I squad, and in all possibilities, they will open the innings. Both the batters have etched their names in the elite list of double centurions in ODIs.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is yet to get accustomed to the ODI format, did not have a great show with his willow, but as the format will be T20I, fans are already anticipating an extraordinary performance from the 32-year-old.

Youngster Prithvi Shaw has also made a comeback to the side after his stellar performance in Ranji Trophy. He has smashed a record-breaking 379 runs against Assam. He hasn’t played an international match since July 2021. It will be interesting to see how Hardik Pandya makes the team composition.
