What happened next kept enthralling the fans. RR kept entertaining the cricket fans on social media with Jos Buttler, R Ashiwn and not to forget the spinner with a smily face Yuzvendra Chahal. These players played a huge role in RR’s progresion to the final.

The Pink team had reached the final but, in what was a fairy-tale ending, the new face Gujarat Titans led by Hardik Pandya won the trophy. But in all likeliness, both Jos and Ashwin will remain teammates even next season for the franchise.

Ashwin but surprised the cricket fraternity with not just the ball but with the bat too when RR needed runs on the score-board. “We spoke to Jos prior to the auction and just talked through all of our prioritisation of players. Honestly, he didn’t even think about it (his run out by Ashwin at the non-striker’s end in 2019). I had to sort of bring it up to just check it was okay. And he said ‘it’s absolutely fine’,” CEO Jake Lush McCrum had said at the media interaction.
