“Only selecting favourites!”- Shocked Twitter question Sanju Samson’s exclusion from T20I squad for West Indies series

Sanju Samson
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, have revealed the squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series played in West Indies after the England tour. BCCI anounced an 18-member squad, which didn’t have the names of Virat Kohli, Jsprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Rohit Sharma will lead the team.
Fans have started thinking that the selectors have started thinking about whom to choose for the upcoming mega event, that is, the ICC T20 World Cup which will be held later this year in Australia. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is also included in the squad, keeping in mind an off-spinning option. Kuldeep Yadav and KL Rahul will play, only if they get fit again from the injury.
India’s squad for T20I series against West Indies: “Rohit Sharma (C), I Kishan, KL Rahul*, Suryakumar Yadav, D Hooda, S Iyer, D Karthik, R Pant, H Pandya, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, R Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav*, B Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.”
“*Inclusion of KL Rahul & Kuldeep Yadav is subject to fitness.”
India team will see no Virat Kohli. Fans are questioning whether he is dropped or rested. Kohli has been suffering from prolonged lean patch and hasn’t contruted needed runs to the team.
But fans are really baffled to see no mention of Sanju Samson in the squad. Samson had scored 77 runs in the previous match he played against Ireland. They slammed BCCI for including the ‘favourites’ and because of their lack of transparency with respect to selecting Shreyas Iyer in place of Kohli and Samson.
