After participating in the demanding IPL, Team India have started their preparation for the WTC Final.
IND vs AUS; Sunil Gavaskar
After the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the discussion surrounding the high-octane World Test Championship (WTC) Final has started. But the major concern, raised by the legendary Sunil Gavaskar is how the Indian players will have to adapt to the longest format, right after two months of T20 cricket.
The IPL was concluded on Monday (May 29) where MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged victorious for the fifth time, by beating Hardik Pandya‘s Gujarat Titans (GT). Rohit Sharma and Co. will square off against Pat Cummins-led Australia a week after IPL, on June 7 at The Oval in London.
As after one week, the two teams, India and Australia, will lock horns, Gavaskar on Star Sports said: “The biggest test will be the fact that just about everybody will be coming out of T20 format, and Test is a longer format. So, I think that’s going to be the big challenge.”

Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat, who were part of the early batch to travel to England for training, have been joined by Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid-led coaching staff.
Bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said that they have increased the workload for the bowlers to prepare them for bowling longer spells. While fielding coach T Dilip explained that the focus will be on close-in catches, slip catches, and flat catches because ground fielding has been covered during the IPL.
