Me and Mahi are not close friends. We were friends because of cricket we played together. Mahis' lifestyle was very different from mine, so we were never close friends, we were only friends because of cricket.
Yuvraj said on The Ranveer Show.

He further said:

He is retired, and I'm retired. When we meet, we meet like friends only.

Yuvraj Singh says he shared a good professional relationship with MS Dhoni

Yuvraj Singh said that even though they were not that close, they had a very good professional relationship and that when he and Dhoni were on the ground, they gave their hundred percent for the country. Yuvraj further explained that the teammates don’t need to end up as best friends outside the field. He pointed out that in any team, all the eleven players don’t generally get along with each other, that when on the field, they will leave their ego behind and contribute to the country.

The 2011 World Cup winner then revealed that when he was at the end of his career, he asked Dhoni’s advice and the ex-India skipper was the one who told him before the 2019 ODI World Cup that the selection committee was not looking for him.
