Umran Malik, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s superfast bowler and their wicketkeeper, Nicholas Pooran, had a fun banter when they challenged each other of a free dinner while practicing in the nets earlier today.

The West Indian Nicholas Pooran challenged Malik to bowl a Yorker. But if he fails to deliver it, then he will have to buy dinner for Pooran. If Malik comes out successful, then Pooran will buy him dinner. But the Jammu Kashmir player failed to deliver a Yorker and threw a length ball instead. And so, he failed the challenge. SRH then shared the video to the fans and asked Pooran if Malik bought him dinner or not as promised.

Nicholas Pooran, is just 5 wickets away from 300 sixes in T20 cricket. In 2021, the Trinidadian played under the Punjab Kings and had a bad season, but he doesn’t care much about what had happened in the past and he is looking forward to the upcoming season.

He spoke to ESPNCricinfo and said: “It doesn’t feel like that. Just because I had one bad season, it’s not going to change the player I am. I am doing pretty well in international cricket and everyone sees that. For me it’s about giving back to my team-the Sunrisers have invested a lot in me and so I just want to give my all for them- to me it’s about being the best version of myself.”

SRH will begin their campaign on Tuesday, March 29 against the Rajasthan Royals at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Brad Hogg, a former Australian spinner, analysed SRH and predicted that SRH might end up at the bottom of the points table in this season.

He said “I think the SRH are going to be at the bottom of points table. I don’t think they have enough depth in their Indian bowling department as Indian batters. So, they will rely heavily on their overseas batters and their local Indian bowlers. If you have an injury, it’s curtains for Sunrisers Hyderabad.”
