WATCH: Nitish Rana's six off Umran Malik breaks fridge glass at SRH dugout
On Friday at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana was in top form, scoring a scorching half-century against the Sunrisers captained by Kane Williamson. In addition, the KKR batter smacked a tremendous six off Umran Malik straight towards the SRH bench, shattering the glass of the beverages freezer in the process.
Rana assured the SRH pacer paid full cost for misreading the length while trying a yorker with the batter in full flow.
The delivery was muscled for a flat-six that went straight to the SRH dugout. As the ball was going off the edge, Rana slashed the cut, and the third man was cleared by a skimmer. It crashed into the drinks refrigerator on the ground level, shattering the glass. The maximum that smashed the refrigerator glass door adjacent to the SRH dugout was entirely due to Malik’s speed.

Nitish Rana and Andre Russell power KKR to 175/8 in 20 overs
After being put in to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Brabourne Stadium, the Kolkata Knight Riders lost their top order, including skipper Shreyas Iyer, with little on the board. As KKR dropped wickets at frequent intervals, it was middle-order wonder Nitish Rana who saved the day by holding the game from one end.
Nevertheless, during his adventurous knock, Rana struck a six that not only crossed the ropes but also caused some damage, as his shot shattered the freezer glass where the players and support staff keep their water bottles and refreshments. This isn’t the first time the southpaw’s shot has caused damage to property. Last season, he cracked the camera’s lens.
Kolkata reached 175/8 in 20 overs after Nitish Rana scored his maiden fifty of the year and Andre Russell hit an amazing 49 off 25 balls. Hyderabad had already named J Suchith in lieu of Washington Sundar, who was injured. Kolkata made their debuts with Aaron Finch and Aman Khan. Sundar, the Sunrisers’ all-rounder, is expected to miss at minimum the next two weeks.
