He was pursuing degrees in finance and international relations when he received a phone call from Melbourne Renegades coach Michael Klinger who asked Hatzoglou to join the team as a local replacement. In 2020, he signed a contract with Melbourne Renegades to replace Will Sutherland. He made his T20 debut for the team on December 12, 2020, and took two wickets. After an impressive maiden BBL season, he earned his call to play for South Australia for the Marsh One-Day Cup in the 2020-21 season. He made his List-A debut against Western Australia.

He signed a two-year contract with the Perth Scorchers in July 2021. After a successful season in BBL, he went to the UK to play pursue his club cricket career. He was the leading wicket-taker in the East Anglican Premier League. After a disappointing experience in county cricket, the Oval Invincibles of The Hundred signed him as a replacement for Sunil Narine.
