Former Indian batsman and Mr. IPL Suresh Raina has revealed that he will not play the next season of IPL, If his best friend MS Dhoni will not play. Dhoni and Raina are the two gems of Chennai Super Kings Franchise. They have played together for the Chennai-based franchise since the inauguration of the IPL in 2008.

Dhoni celebrated his 40th birthday on July 7 and it is believed that this year’s IPL season might be his last tournament. In an interview with News 24 Sports, Suresh Raina stated that he will try to convince Dhoni to play on for another season, just in case CSK go on to win IPL 2021.

“If Dhoni Bhai doesn’t play the next IPL then even I wouldn’t play. We have played together here since 2008. However, if we win this year I will convince him to play next year as only 3-4 months would be there. There is a lot of domestic cricket too and UP has some talented players.” Raina told in an interview.

Last Year both Dhoni and Raina take retirement on 15th August from International Cricket. Both legends give this news by their tweets and shocked everyone. Suresh Raina’s retirement come as a shock as he was just 34 years old. Everyone expected him to play the game 4-5 years more, but he showed his great friendship and bond with Former Indian captain and decided to retire with his best friend.

Suresh Raina has always praise his captain MS Dhoni owing to the respect and admiration he has for him. Playing with him for the country and the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, Raina has developed a special bond with Dhoni about which he has always been vocal. Raina is the highest run scorer for the CSK franchise and has gained the title of Mr. IPL due to his best performance in the tournament.
