IPL 2022: Former CSK player Suresh Raina reckons this player to be MS Dhoni’s successor at CSK

Former Indian cricketer & Mr.IPL, Suresh Raina has stated that someone from among Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa, or Dwayne Bravo can be the successor of four-time IPL winning captain MS Dhoni in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). One of the great IPL left-handers who played for CSK for many years added that these players, particularly Ravindra Jadeja, has the ability to lead the side.
“Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa and Dwayne Bravo can lead the side. They are capable, know the game very well and can be a successor for MS Dhoni,” Raina said in a press conference organised by Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL 2022. Raina was part of the Indian squad that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup, as well as four times winning the IPL with Chennai Super Kings.
He was the first Indian player to score 6000 as well as 8000 runs in T20s and the first-ever cricketer to reach 5,000 runs in IPL. He also holds the record for scoring the most fifties in Champions League T20 history.

Suresh Raina, Ravi Shastri set to join commentary panel for upcoming edition
Disney Star Networks, who are the authorized broadcasters of IPL matches, announced a list of 80 commentators that will describe the games with passion, excitement, thrill, and definitely a dash of humor. Shastri, the former India head coach, is making his comeback to commentary after seven years with the national team. Shastri is a popular broadcaster whose voice during live matches is loved by the fans. Suresh Raina, who did not find any bidders during the mega auction for the IPL 2022, will also don the commentator’s hat during the tournament for the first time.
The former left-hander revealed that commentating on the IPL is a very difficult job, since he is known for his swashbuckling batting during his playing days.
“I am prepared for this. Some of my friends Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawala are already doing commentary. And then we will have Ravi Bhai (Shashtri) also in this season. So I think it`s going to be easy for me. I can take tips from my friends,” he said. Star Sports will have Ravi Shastri and Suresh Raina on its elite commentary team for the IPL 2022 starting March 26.
