Ace Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Ravi Ashwin almost indulged in a heated argument with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster Tim Southee and skipper Eoin Morgan on Tuesday. The trio was involved in a heated verbal argument during match 41 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

The incident took place on the first delivery of the last over of DC’s innings when Ashwin stepped out of his crease to hit Southee on the leg-side. However, he only managed to hit the ball straight to Nitish Rana at deep square leg and the batter began walking back to the pavilion after scoring 9 (8).

In the following visuals, the 35-year-old was seen involved in a heated exchange with Southee and Morgan. Soon after, Ashwin’s batting partner and Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant also joined them as the situation appeared to have heated up a lot.

Adding to this, Kolkata wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik, who plays alongside Ashwin for Tamil Nadu in the Indian domestic circuit, interrupted to send Ashwin back towards the pavilion avoiding any further argument.

The DC off-spinner had the last laugh between the two as he dismissed the Englishman for a duck as Lalit Yadav completed a regulation catch at the first slip. Ashwin was absolutely pumped up as he was roaring and jogging past the batter along with a stare at the KKR captain.

Despite wickets at regular intervals for the Capitals, KKR emerged as winners in a low-scoring game in Sharjah. Sunil Narine won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his brilliant all-round performance in the game. And with this victory, Morgan’s boys retained the fourth spot in the Points Table.
