WATCH: Sanju Samson leaves everyone stunned with no-look six during practice session

Team India are already set for their next assignment post the T20 World Cup 2022. They will lock horns with New Zealand for three T20I and as many ODIs. Indian players sweat hard in the nets as part of their preparations for a neck-to-neck battle on foreign soil.

All the batters were charged up and tested their striking ability during the practice session. But it was Indian wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson who caught all the attention. He looked in good touch during the practice session ahead of the first T20I against New Zealand on Friday (November 18).

He showcased his wide range of shots, one of which was a no-look six which left everyone awestruck. The BCCI shared the clip on their official Twitter handle. In the clip, one can be heard shouting “Shot hain yaar Sanju” as soon as Samson played the eye-catching shot.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes Sanju Samson should have got the No.5 batting position in the team at the showpiece event. He stated that the Kerala-based batter has the ability to counter-attack and put pressure back on the opposition.

“Samson played match-winning knocks in West Indies. When 2-3 wickets fall, he comes in and attacks. He has the ability to take on spinners and hit them for fours and sixes. He was ready but was not picked for the World Cup. That was a mistake,” Kaif told Sportskeeda.

Samson will be eager to prove a point in the T20I series. He was ignored by the selectors despite having decent numbers in the concerned format. With management looking to identify a new set of players for the next edition of the T20 World Cup, it will be a golden opportunity to throw his name.
