The spin all-rounder Axar Patel is living a dream life in 2021 especially in the longest format of the game. Making his Test debut against England in the second Test of the four-match series, Axar left the entire cricket fraternity stunned with his assaults with the willow. 

The spinner caused carnage on the field as he made a mockery of the English batters. In just three Test matches, Axar Patel was successful in picking up 27 wickets while bowling at an economy rate of 2.24 and an average of 10.6. A brilliant show with the red-ball against England was followed by a sensational ride in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals.

Axar was also rewarded for his good performance in the India leg of IPL 2021 as he earned a place in the 15-member Indian squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The left-hander continued his fine form in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 too as he completely justified his place in the T20 squad.

However, the 27-year-old found himself getting axed from the T20 World Cup team as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to pick seam all-rounder Shardul Thakur ahead of him. Though Axar isn’t a part of the main squad, he will be there with the Indian team as a standby player.

Thus far in his career, Axar Patel has represented India in 38 One Day Internationals and 12 T20 Internationals picking 45 and nine wickets respectively. Coming to the Indian Premier League, the Gujarat-born has played a whopping 109 IPL matches for a handful of franchises. 

Axar has 953 IPL runs to his credit along with 95 scalps at an economy rate of 7.22. While the left-hander is touching new heights in his cricket career, not much is known about his personal life. It is believed that Axar is currently focusing on his cricket career and isn’t interested in forming a love relationship with anyone.
