Yuzvendra Chahal’s parents test positive for COVID-19; father hospitalized with ‘severe symptoms’

Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal‘s parents have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the cricketer’s wife Dhanashree Verma. Further, Chahal’s father has been hospitalized with ‘severe symptoms’ while his mother is being treated at home.
The second wave of the pandemic has been wreaking havoc in India and more than 3.5 lakh cases are being reported each and every day. The situation in the country is extremely dire and the rest of the nations have been looking at India with grave concern. There is a state of perpetual uncertainty in every walk of life, even as acute problems like shortage of oxygen and hospital beds continue to plague the country.
With regard to the cricketing world, a sizable amount of players got infected recently during the now-suspended Indian Premier League (IPL 2021). With more than 5 cases being reported inside the teams’ bio-bubbles, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took the decision of indefinitely suspending the event and sending all players back home.
Dhanashree Verma confirms news of Yuzvendra Chahal’s parents’ positive COVID-19 tests
Yuzvendra Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma took to Instagram today to reveal the news of the leggie’s parents testing positive. She wrote, “And now my parents in law have tested positive with severe symptoms. My father in law is admitted and my mother in law is being treated at home. I was at the hospital and I have witnessed the worst. I’m taking all the precautions but… Guys please stay at home and take proper care of your family.“
It is noteworthy that Chahal recently donated a sum of Rs. 95,000 to a fund set up by his national and franchise captain Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma on Ketto. The couple had set the fund up to raise money for COVID-19 relief and they had started it off by donating a sum of Rs. 2 crores. Soon, a plethora of fans and cricketers followed with donations and contributions.
