Al Nassr is back at the forefront of media fanfare once again after notching three straight wins. To make it an extraordinary sequence of events, Cristiano Ronaldo found himself on the scoring sheet, as Al Nassr humbled a numerically depleted Al Wehda in the former’s backyard.
Angelo Gabriel opened the scoring for Al Nassr in the 41st minute while Ronaldo doubled it from the spot, ensuring three points for his team. After a shaky start to the season that saw Luis Castro lose his job, the Men in Yellow and Blue were fired up to return to winning ways.
Ever since their draw against Al Shorta in the AFC Champions League, Al Nassr’s winning spree has been one to cherish. They steamrolled Al-Ettifaq where Ronaldo opened the scoring for them while bettering Al-Hazm in the King Cup of Champions. Their latest victim turned out to be Al-Wehda who was no match for the technical superiority of Ronaldo and company.
With their latest win, Al-Nassr moved up to the third position of the points table in the ongoing Saudi Pro League with three wins from five games. Al Hilal stands in the top place with five wins from five games while Al-Ittihad is next in line with four wins from five games.
Cristiano Ronaldo made Al Nassr’s players do the SIUU together
If the rampant spree wasn’t enough for Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates, there was another delightful move in the making for the fans. Ronaldo made his teammates practice and eventually pulled off the Siuu (Ronaldo’s signature celebration move) in tandem. That was a sight to behold at the Al-Awwal park as the fans were delighted beyond comprehension.
In the ongoing season of the Saudi Pro League, the Portuguese marksman has fired home four goals from five matches while knitting an assist as well. In the Saudi Super Cup, he has fired home a brace and has also carved an assist for his teammates. Even though the fans and the experts have pointed out that Ronaldo is way past his prime, the numbers say otherwise while Al-Nassr is tickled with the current run and will be hopeful of continuing the same momentum.
