Crystal Palace in talks to sign Ghanian free agent Andre Ayew: Would his inclusion benefit the Eagles?

Andre Ayew
The transfer season has begun and we might witness some very interesting bids in the coming few days. With clubs discussing their future plans with players who could add value to their side, rumours and negotiations have already begun. As per recent reports Crystal Palace FC held talks with Swansea City and Ghana centre forward Andre Ayew for his move to the club.
How would Andre Ayew’s presence benefit Crystal Palace?

The striker isn’t a household name but how does his presence benefit the club if the Eagles manage to land a deal with him? One of the biggest advantages of having him in the side is that the striker can play in multiple positions. The 31-year-old can play as a centre forward, midfielder and at the left-wing. Ayew possesses the pace and speed to topple any defensive outfit with his accelerating runs. Ayew is a deadly source who can vary his speed as per the opposition’s game plan and can outrun the opposition with his counter-attacking play and quick decision making. Ayew is a skillful operator when it comes to his technical play at the centre as well as at the wings. The striker is a penetrative goal-scoring option at the front and is known for his pressing game and brutal finishing.
The Swansea City player can be a big contributing link with his ability to direct the ball in scoring positions and his ability to control possession with his crafty dribbles during open play. Ayew’s role as a midfielder would be more beneficial as the 31-year-old has shown fine tactical awareness to build attacks from the centre as well as from the wings and is a kind of player who has shown defensive as well as offensive astuteness to generate cohesion during open play as well as during set-pieces. Ayew is a combination of attacking flair and skilful trickery and possesses the speed to win the possession.
Playing under Patrick Vieira would add further advancements to his on-field tactical communication with other players. Ayew netted 17 goals in 46 games in the EFL Championships with 4 assists to his name in the last season. The former Marseille FC player would form a deadly trio alongside his brother Jordan Ayew and Wilfred Zaha. His midfield combination with James McArthur would be crucial during open play. If the agreement is successful it would shape the club’s fortunes and would make the side a lot more competitive and help the club to compete against the best clubs in English football.
