WWE puts a halt on Damian Priest's title reign after seemingly running out of contenders.

Damian Priest retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso at the Backlash PLE in France. The match was good from an in-ring perspective. Additionally, it did an impressive job in furthering the Judgment Day storyline. Despite his impressive performance, the 41-year-old may unfortunately be missing out on the next PLE.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Damian Priest might not have a title match planned for King and Queen of The Ring. Considering that Jey Uso was already beaten by the Puerto Rican and every other major babyface on Raw had been accounted for, there seemed to be no plans for a World Heavyweight Championship match at the PLE in Saudi Arabia.
As Seth Rollins is out due to surgery and CM Punk, who is also injured, is involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso seems to be the top babyface on Raw. WWE has put a lot of stock into the Samoan. They even made him the number one draft pick for the Red brand. However, with him already being beaten, Raw seems to have run out of credible challengers.
The World Heavyweight Champion already seems preoccupied with the descension between the Judgment Day. Additionally, with just two more episodes of Raw left, there may not be enough time to build up a match between him and a challenger.
Other than the big four shows, WWE also seems to be sticking around five matches for each PLE card. With four matches already announced for the event and possibly more to come, there may not even be room for the Judgment Day member to defend his title.
Jim Cornette thinks Damian Priest should leave the Judgment Day
Speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, controversial wrestling figure, Jim Cornette was asked about Damian Priest turning babyface. He was against the idea of a face turn. However, the 62-year-old did suggest that the World Heavyweight Champion should leave the Judgment Day.
He suggested that the formerly known Punishment Martinez should keep his distance from the group. Instead, he should solely focus on being a top-heel champion. Cornette added that he would like to see the Priest have more heel heat, especially after Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley are out due to injury.
Cornette also proposed Finn Balor and JD McDonagh continue to build their storyline. Meanwhile, Priest continues his run as a dominant heel champion. He added that this was necessary for his babyface run. The more over one gets while they are a heel, the moreover they will be once they turn, and vice versa.
