Dale Earnhardt Jr. claims NASCAR media is taking advantage of “short fuse” Kyle Busch

The 2024 NASCAR Cup season so far hasn’t gone as planed for Kyle Busch. He came into the season with the hopes of redemption after poor second half to the season he had with Richard Childress Racing last year. Busch scored three wins at the first part of 2023, before dropping down to a mediocre finish streak.

As the poor finish streak continues, Kyle Busch is showing signs that he wants to move on from RCR. He admitted at Iowa last week that he is open to going back to JGR or HMS in the future, which drew criticism from ex-drivers such as Kevin Harvick. Now Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. while talking to the media highlighted how the NASCAR media is getting such comments out of the veteran.

Junior pointed out that most NASCAR drivers doesn’t get the pressing question as Busch does In the media center. He reckons media goes after Busch because of his short-fuse nature and the fact that the No:8 Chevy driver will easily get annoyed with such questions compared to other drivers such as Joey Logano.

I don’t hear that many people banging the drum, ‘What’s going on Joey?’ They’re going for Kyle because they know Kyle is short-tempered, short fuse, easily get a bit annoyed in those moments in the media center.

Kyle Bush is going to have hard time keeping up with the drama according to Dale Earnhardt Jr.

While talking about the same point earlier in the podcast, Junior asserted that Busch is going to be pressed more every well by the media and though he does want to be in the mess, Busch will get caught up in it. This will put him in place where his comments will have some collateral damage.

And these things are not the things that Kyle Busch loves to be in the middle of. So every week they’re probably going to try and paint him in the media and he is going to have a hard time keeping his comments clean so that there’s no collateral damage.

Junior got a point as the media stress the racer more, but this is not just because of his short-fuse but also because of the fact that Kyle Busch is one of those drivers who is willing express his pinon freely. It would be interesting to what comments will come from Busch if RCR continues to tun bad.
