Ronda Rousey was one of the UFC’s biggest superstars. She reached superstardom even before the likes of Conor McGregor. According to Dana White, she was one of his favorite fighters to work with. In his recent podcast appearance, the UFC CEO was all praises for the former UFC champion.
Dana White recently sat down for a conversation on The Big Podcast. During his discussion with Shaquille O’Neal, White named his top favorite UFC fighters he had ever worked with. Interestingly, the names Chuck Liddell and Ronda Rousey left the UFC CEO’s lips before he mentioned UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
My two all-time favorites, the two people that were the best ever to deal with and that I absolutely love, Chuck Liddell, Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey is the greatest athlete I’ve ever worked with, by 100 miles, okay. And then, Conor McGregor has been a great athlete to work with for me.Dana White on The Big Podcast
Much like Conor McGregor, the UFC CEO appreciated Ronda Rousey’s willingness to take on any opponent thrown at her. The UFC CEO highlighted that Rousey got so big and popular that she took on many different things at the same time. She would never say no to anything and that was what made her special.
However, White said that Rousey’s popularity led to her downfall. While she was focused on doing everything, her opponents at bantamweight were solely focused on beating her. She broke her winning streak when she lost to Holly Holm at UFC 193. Rousey came back a year later and lost again, this time to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.
UFC CEO Dana White speaks on Power Slap
Dana White started Power Slap last year and is quickly growing it to become one of the biggest phenomena in the sports industry. Every other Dana White appearance comes with a conversation on his slap-fighting league. The promotion has reportedly more than 7 billion views worldwide.
The UFC CEO had previously said that PowerSlap is worth a staggering $450 million. As per former UFC middleweight contender Eric Spicely, fighters were only getting paid $2000 to show up and another $2000 to win. However, White was quick to defend this saying that it was how the UFC started too. During his recent appearance on ‘The Big Podcast’ Dana White revealed that PowerSlap has surpassed the UFC in just 17 months since inception.
I think this can be huge and the answer is 7 billion views! This thing has been around 17 months, its done over 7 billion views… Where Powerslap is right now in 17 months, it took the UFC 10 years to get there.

White initially came up with the idea while watching a local Russian barn fight on YouTube. The UFC CEO saw potential in the sport and has now made it a popular event on social media. The UFC CEO had also claimed that PowerSlap was slowly surpassing major sporting leagues like MLB, NASCAR & NHL. It will be interesting to see where the UFC CEO takes his latest venture to.
